Just reading through this and my head hurts...

The book is "unauthorized" and written by an award winning investigative journalist who has had no issue ruffling powerful feathers in the past. The author is insisting that while he had access to Cowell, he got to write it his way and Cowell hasn't read it yet.

    From there, it gets complicated...

The concensus is that he is gay. And Bower hasn't alleged that, so the verdict is that Bower is being paid to write the book although I'm not entirely sure why they'd want that.

But running with the theory - the book details an affair with Dannii Minogue. She's said to be furious and the press are working on the basis that it did happen (and he's straight). If he is gay, didn't actually sleep with her and she's furious about this then it seems like a widly risky move unless she's actively co-operating. Especially when The Osbourne family are now baiting her in todays press.

It doesn't make much sense at all... but that wouldn't be the first time.

    1) "Unauthorized" but Simon let him on his yacht....yadda yadda... Pretty much advertised it on his own twitter..ect. Also, he allegedly(according to a few breathless tabloid insiders on twitter) had the power to shut things up before, but for some reason, doesn't now. I'm sure award winning authors have been bought before and will be bought again.

2)Why? TO create a sh*tstorm of press, and make Simon look like like the stud he always wanted to be seen as. Whether it worked at that way is another matter. Even if some aspects are true, all these reek to me of "lesser secrets" to hide a secret(or several) that would be considered worse.

As for the Women's reactions? They could be in on it, or not. Do you think Simon et all care if they blast him in the press? Their word against his. Who do you think that THEY think the public will believe?

I don't know what the actual TRUTH is, but I know it's not in that book.

she can take some lessons from queen cheryl in learning how to act with class and decency and not like a first class wh**e(no offence)

She was accepting an award at the Logies for a dear friend who nearly died. Molly Meldrum was being inducted into the Hall of Fame.

1D were the main act at the awards, and she spoke to them backstage as she knew them from the X Factor, and congratulated them on their success.

I think that's what you call class don't you? The one who's totally lacking in class is you, and I'm sure everyone on here would agree.

Also, the fact it is "Unauthorized" helps a lot. "But... But it's not my fault it was Unauthorized!!!"

    I do.
The fact is that no one knows how Dannii has reacted to all of this about her former boyfriend and Simon. And until she says something, there's really nothing much to say.

That he gave him access doesn't mean a huge amount. He had a writer from The Times stay at the villa he rented in Barbados for judges houses a couple of years back and she wrote a scathing piece which hinted he was gay. Ben Elton got access and even promotion on the Cowell episode of This is Your Life to plug his X Factor satire. To say that Cowell prefers to keep the press close is an understatement.

I'm sure his PR team and Carter Ruck can keep some things quiet - but there's always a limit to what they can do. Especially when they're not actually dealing with tabloid press (The Sun are only serialising something else). Far richer, more powerful people than Cowell have seen things get out to the tabloid press or biographers that they'd rather keep quiet.

EDIT: If they can keep things out the press, they might have wanted to start with this piece...

There are more subtle ways of doing that, surely? No need for Tom Bower. No need for a years worth of "access" which has made it seem like it was authorized (they could just tell him what to write). No need to create all this trouble. The simple fact that he is seen to have revealed this in the first place (whether he did or not) is causing enough grief. But to be seen to be lying about it? It'd be a complete and utter disaster. Dannii might walk from Australia's Got Talent. Cheryl isn't exactly thrilled with him anyway so God knows what she might say...

If they're in on it then it's not such a problem and makes a bit more sense.

There's something very odd about his personal life for sure.

Now I know why Simon Cowell would sometimes ask me to dress up as Dannii Minogue and sing 'This is It' when we were making love.

    :D

Now this version of events I can actually believe :D

I wouldn't be surprised if Dannii is actually in on this. If the whole thing is a work of fiction, she may be playing along with it as a favour to Cowell, even the distressed Dannii bit who is mortified and disgusted by his "revelations".

Not since those completely candid pictures of Robbie Williams and Rachel Hunter getting intimate by the pool have I believed something less than this.

They just make more work for themselves pulling stunts like these.

Well. Some posts here are kinda bizarre. I won't speculate about what's what, but I can say one thing -- he seems a hard worker. Enough to be seen as a workaholic, even.

He worked with two colleagues a few years ago at my work building on the same floor. He arrived at 6AM or 7AM and didn't leave until sometimes midnight and sometimes 2AM. Occasionally, they worked through the night. These were their usual hours for perhaps five weeks. The following year, he returned to work with those colleagues again and their schedule was the same as the year before, but only for a week this time. Long, long hours.

From a distance, he seemed a nice bloke. Quiet but nice. But when they worked, he was like a horse with blinders. No time for social chit chats, lunch outs and all. He completely ignored all around him. Got irritated easily when someone or a phone call interrupted their time. Short tempered, occasionally, when the progress didn't go the way they wanted. One colleague found him good but tough to work with and the other colleague found him fair to work with.

If I were a betting person, I think he's a workaholic with no or little time for a proper love and home life. His life seems to revolve around his business(es). For what it's worth, anyway.

She'll be along any moment now [probably after Stavros Flatley] but meanwhile:

Simon may well be bisexual but mostly his ego and work ethic is too all encompassing for him to have much interest in anyone (male or female) but himself.
    I doubt he's a rampant stud either way. :D

They both don't mind the odd lap dancer story to gain some press attention (Dannii grinding up and kissing one some years ago), so I wouldn't put it past her to be in on this.

Problem is for Simon if it's true or not the majority of people from reading comments on other sites don't seem to believe he's very straight and it doesn't matter how many stories come out about heterosexual conquests, in fact they seem to make people think they're all set up to deflect from the truth.

Yes... even award winning authors can be left short of a few bob following a big court case. In 2009 Tom Bower [TB] successfully defended himself against a Libel suit from Richard Desmond [re- excerpts of TB's biog of Conrad Black] - and was awarded 'indemnity' based legal costs. But it's unlikely that all expenses are covered in such cases.

Also Tom Bower said he got this information from someone close to Simon, so all the investigations and only one person told him of the affair with Dannii before he asked Simon about it? The someone close to Simon must either be Max, Sinitta or his mother. :D

Im not that close to this but doesn't she do Americas Got Talent ??? and Minogue do Australias got Talent???

If so for all the bluster from these people either directly or indirectly both these women are still working for him and thus on his payroll so why should we believe anything either of them say let alone Cowell himself.

I still think this is all about SC trying to make out he is a stud muffin and all the women are being paid to play along :)

I havent see Simon Cowell react the way to any of these women as he did towards Ryan Seacrest on American Idol.

There was tension (sexual)? but he didnt show that side to anyone else he worked with. Ryan seems very subdued in his hosting role without Simon on the panel, it just goes to show just how much there was between them.

I laugh like a drain because his two sparring previous "girlfriends" havent been mentioned in all this, poor old Snit and Jackie, why use them for an escort to functions when he had all these other women hanging after his every word.

He is a sad man, at 52, cannot form a loving relationship, pays his ex's millions to get rid of them or not to tell of their so called relationships with him. I always thought he courted Danni with an ulterior motive to get at Kylie and she was the one he really wanted on the panel, she was at the judges hotel with Danni but good for her, she needed Cowell like a hole in the head.

Max Clifford was just on This Morning. He said he warned Simon not to talk to TB, but Simon didn't listen! I'm no fan of Max, but he sounded very dissapointed.
