Wifi problem on iPhone 4S

My wifi is greyed out. So I can't slide it on.
Tried the reset network settings a few times but no luck. Tried a reset without wiping data and also no good.
A few other ideas I've seen banded about is a freezer and also a hair dryer?!
I'm going to ring then up but thought I'd see if any one can shed any light on it for me?

    Hi Mills I have the same problem nothing seems to mend it tried everything after a couple of weeks the slides are not greyed out but it just keeps spinning round searching and never connects on the support forum there are thousands of 4s users all having the same problem nothing directly from apple how to cure this

    I had this problem. It is a nown fault. Take it to the genius bar. They replaced my phone despite it being out of warranty. To improve your chances of getting a free replacement, say it happened as soon as you upgraded the OS
