Laptop Mouse Pointer

I have a Lenovo 3000, N200 Notebook, OS Windows 7 Professional..
My problem is after boot up, the mouse pointer remains static, can't move it, so after a re-boot, it begins to work fine.
Any idea of the problem?

    Could be a driver problem.

One thing you could try first is to fire up Device Manager and find the Mouse/Pointing Device section and the entry for the offending device. Right click on it and select Uninstall. Then reboot and Windows should re-install the drivers.

This may cure the problem. Or you may need to go to the manufacturer's website and download and install new drivers.

Does the keyboard work, for example pressing the Windows key, whilst the mouse is frozen?

When I do that, other windows sites pop up, then I removed the battery, then insert it again, and the pointer is working, after boot up.
