For the past couple of years the christmas specials have been about famous stories which have been twisted.

    Sounds good just what we will need on a chilly winter night digesting turkey and mince pies a scary but also funny doctor who christmas special

    I have never seen The Snowman and have no idea what it's about...:o
    Is it the cartoon with the "We're walking in the air" song?

    Isn't this more speculation than fact? From the pics I've seen (especially the setting) it doesn't look anything like that sort of story

    The main connection apart from the title seems to be that
    there are living Snowmen in it.

    I doubt we'll see the Doctor dressing like Arthur Dent (10 already did that ;)) and flying through the air though.

    the Yeti if any classic Monster appears.

    I think it will only be a loose theme because the episode will probably be focused on clara.
