Yes and dogslaughter for a dog, cowslaughter for a cow......etc

Boyslaughter and girlslaughter and babislaughter it would get so rediculous, lets just stick with the usual.

This thread may result in man's and woman's laughter maybe.

It wouldn't come up if the term didn't have "man" in the name I guess. The phrase does sound a little dated next to "murder two" but I'm glad the distinction betwen pre-meditated killing and the other kind is preserved in this country.

Shoeslaughter when a woman's heel breaks. You can read that two ways as well.

"Daughterslaughter" has a satisfying ring to it.

Any more of this and autoslaughter seems an inevitability.

'Manslaughter' sounds like something an Orc would say on LOTR.
Sounds much more interesting then 'murder'. They should have called murder 'manslaughter'.

Jerry Seinfeld does a bit about this.

Not an interesting post, but a true one.

Which in turn comes from the way the Latin word "manus". while retaining its original meaning of 'hand', also came to mean a 'worker', and thence to mean 'a person' generally. So the "man" in manage, manhole, manufacture, etc., simply means any person, regardless of sex.

We avoid all this trouble in Scotland by calling it culpable homicide.
