What magazines do you buy to read on holiday.

I usually stick to the same ones. That is, Focus magazine, National Geographic, T3 and as i've still got a childish sense of humour, Viz! I always buy them in the WH Smith store before departure:)

I don't see the point of going on holiday to read magazines.
    Maybe just for the flight.
Viz would work for me to kill a hour or two or maybe a newspaper with a decent crossword.

Haha Viz is always an essential purchase from the departure lounge for me too. Find it's perfect reading for on the plane. I do also enjoy some of the inflight magazines too, especially when there is a nice feature on your holiday destination.

None, I prefer a good book. I can't remember when I last bought a magazine.

None - I use my Kindle, and read local Evening paper on the internet to keep tabs on local news.

I don't usually read magazines but when I do I tend to opt for Marie Clare. :o

I too prefer a book on holiday or my iPod.

Don't you ever sit down and relax on your holidays then?

No sunbathing then? No sitting down with a glass of wine and relaxing?

Me too, and all the rest of that ilk

More often than not we go long haul and the puzzles are good for passing the time.

I usually buy one at the airport. n ever normally read magazines apart from work ones but it's part of the whole holiday ritual like spraying yourself with every aftershave possible and paying £12 for a cold fried egg.

Normally Scientific American, Marketing Week or Men's Health.

Me neither, but your not always guaranteed sunshine abroad, so magazines come in handy!

I stopped buying magazines a while ago when we had money difficulties and cuts had to be made and I haven't really got back into the habit of buying them again.

I will occasionally buy New Scientist.

    Still can't afford holidays :(

I'd have thought that reading on holiday was a fairly normal thing to do.

Yes but why magazines? I read books a lot at home and on holiday and wouldn't ever buy a magazine. Sorry have I got the wrong end of the stick again?

The people I replied to suggested that going on holiday to read was weird. Personally I don't see the difference between books and magazines in this situation.

New Scientist and GQ. Books such as Lord of the Rings or another novel that I've been meaning to finish, too.

I find that there is a hell of a lot a time to kill when I'm travelling to the airport, or on the flight, or on long bus rides, or even during afternoon siestas, for me to relax and read.

I don't buy any magazines to read on holiday - I get them to read either in the departure lounge or on the plane.

I take books for the holiday itself but when traveling I like to have something one can dip in and out of. I don't always want to commit to my book and prefer something to flick through or an hour or so. Sometimes I'll buy a comic which doesn't need the same application of concentration.

Yes, in a pub or restaurant.
The rest of the time I'm checking out the place I'm visiting.

^^ but something to read is nice, when say waiting for the other half to get ready, I go sit on the terrace or balcony and have a little read. Or if you wake up at "stupid o'clock" in the morning, just pop onto the balcony or read in bed, until you can wake the wife up.
