I dont know if anyone can help but....

I tried to boot up the humax today and all I get is a blank screen instead of the loader sequence, then a quick flash of a please wait banner then it shuts down again.

On the front display it does still count up with the loader digits then the logo, a bit of thinking time then back to standby.

Im using the latest updates for both loader and firmware.

This did happen a few weeks ago and a couple of reboots sorted it out but not this time, could it be the hard drive knacked or will a flash back to the last loader do it, any ideas?

Not specifically for your problem but you could try these:

If the unit is stuck in Standby mode (4 dashes on the display), then you can try the following to resolve:

    1. Power off at the rear
    2. Disconnect Aerial
    3. Switch ON
    4. If the unit can then be switched on carry out a Default setting
    5. When the unit restarts insert the aerial cable so there is signal when the auto search appears

    Or

    1. Power off at rear
    2. Hold in Standby button on front of unit
    3. Power ON (with Standby button still held)

I would suggest the 2nd is more likely to help as this procedure clears any corrupt data in memory and starts a clean re-boot.

Failing this I'm afraid it looks like a call to the support line.

    Cheers for the reply.

Its up and running again after a bit of messing around.

Is it the cache that causes corrupt data, assuming it does cache data and does anyone know if there a way to clear the cache manually if thats the problem?

    Cheers again.
