I thought we'd just about done with this but it seems it's taking off again.
A woman in New York is running increasingly popular classes in anthropomorphic taxidermy - where dead animals (particularly mice) are put into various poses to make them take on human properties.
Not my cup of tea. I don't fancy having dead rodents about the house - whether they've been made to look fancy or not. In fact some of them look a bit disturbing.
What do you reckon? Maybe you have stuffed animals yourself.

Jeiven buys the mice already dead at pet shops and removes their blood with syringes before handing them out to students.

Yep, I've well and truly stuffed a few dogs in my time.
What do you think I am, a Welsh farmer?
I like it
What have you got?
Scott the squirrel
I'm fancying a watervole next
Edit - I'm just uploading a pic
Here he is
I've uploaded it before but I couldn't find it
Is it anthropowatsit or a more natural squirrel pose?
EDIT: awaits hobbit's picture of her squirrell.
He looks very shifty.
And it looks like he's doing something with that log.
Were you walking toward him with the taxidermy kit?
He's also got a windsock draped over his tail
He's just plain odd
Not at all madam.
So - do you stroke him or even talk to him?
My daughter went through a phase of kissing him goodnight, is that the sort of thing you were looking for?
That's it.
So you don't do it yourself then? Or maybe take him shopping in a pram?
No kissing from me, squirrels are notorious for fleas. No pram either, his log would get in the way.
Amazing how you've managed to catch his expression just before the car hit him!

Looks like the collection has been split up.
Since then I have worked on a show with a stuffed dog in it. Once I got used to him, it was fine. Don't particularly like the idea of dressing dead animals up.
Me too. I thought we were going to talk about our favourite teddies or something
Should probably not admit that that was why I clicked on the thread.....
