Cat hates all cats BUT One?

Our cat is 6 now and has never got on with other cats screaming and fighting with them. We've just moved into a new house a couple of weeks ago and have started letting him out, straight back into old habits I can hear him screaming at any cats that come near the property but there's ONE black cat that he doesn't scream at and they sniff each other's noses and are really calm around each other. I've never seen anything like it there have never been exceptions before. Is there an explanation to this?

    My Impossible Princess often played with her adopted Mum next door.

    I suppose it is how they read the body language of each other. Some I guess have similar ways of expressing themselves that don't appear hostile.
