Halogen security LED R7 light bulbs any good ?

My halogen security light bulbs dont seem to last longer than 6 months.. I'm getting tired of replacing them and they are fairly high up so its dangerous as well.

Anyone know if the new LED R7 types are any good ?

    Never used one yet - but I've also never had a security light bulb fail either?, in over 30 years of use.

    An LED one should last longer, and also uses only a fraction of the power, so will more than pay for itself.

    I've fitted a 40W LED floodlight at work, and I'm VERY impressed with it - nice white light, and nice and bright.
