Visually she reminds me of Diana Krall. She's four years older at 55.

"Time for a bit of Latin."

A track from a new CD. Only 25 hits so far.

A competent jazz pianist too, this from 2009.

I like those two videos, the second live one in particular - to me, it looks like she's not just playing the tune, but feeling it with her body, & enjoying every minute of it.

The double bassist in that clip is Marc Johnson, who is her husband.

I've got this album by her, which is a tribute to Bill Evans:

From that album, this is the tune My Foolish Heart - on this Marc Johnson plays the double bass that Scott LaFaro played when The Bill Evans Trio recorded the tune:

I think on this i can hear how Bill has influenced the playing of Eliane.

Thanks for that, I must have nearly a dozen Bill Evans CDs.

It's amazing how many recordings there are of "My Foolish Heart," by different artists.

I uploaded this one by Steve Conway, four years ago, it's the first one that come up if you select the title by him and surprisingly it has had nearly 20,000 hits.
As a child I remember this was on the radio a lot and it was my mother's favourite record.

I mention Bill Evans version in the notes I added.

I've versions by quite a few other artists.

i've just listened to her version of the tune and yes, you can definitely hear Bill Evans in her playing. I've mentioned before that there's so many talented artists available on YouTube and their work received so few hits. But I'll keep adding them!

Her, "My Foolish Heart" has had only 90 hits in four months.

I always thought Bill Evans' playing complimented that of Miles Davis, when he was in his band, as both their styles were "understated."

I've never heard of Steve Conway, so it's interesting to hear another version of the tune.

I agree with what you say about Bill & Miles.

I find that YouTube has interesting jazz tunes & videos on it that i've not heard before - i start listening to/watching one, & when it's finished i go off on a tangent & listen to others that are down the side of the page.

That's the way I find a lot of stuff. Though others come from dedicated message boards, or via e-mails from like-minded people.
That was how I discovered the Catalonian musicians on which I started a thread.. They're some of the best new jazz artists I've found in a while.

Another source I've recently found is this,

    "Balcony TV"

    http://www.balconytv.com/

It's where I found the Judit Neddermann video I linked yesterday.

This board does seem to be very much focused on contemporary pop, when there's so much more out there. But you can't dictate to people when it comes to music choices. You can just hopefully make them aware of alternatives.
