The man is brave: http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/2iyngn/i_wrote_tonights_doctor_who_and_next_weeks_ama/
Sounds like they cut the scene which Frank Skinner said was his fav, too. The Doctor ranting about superstitions and false Gods.
Did Peter Capaldi say the lines exactly as you wrote/envisioned them or did he tweak anything?
The jelly babies were his idea!

Wow, brave indeed. Very accessible and honest
But the Q and A thing is all a bit self-aggrandising.
*Though he was later alternating between later drafts of both.
He addresses that in the Q and A at one point funnily enough.
But seriously I think it's a brilliant idea. Gives absolutely anyone the chance to talk with an actual writer from the show - be it a fan or an aspiring writer. It also shows the writer genuinely cares about their stuff... not leaving work at the office and all that.
The guy seems brilliant, and I'm looking forward to next week. If it's again brilliant, I'd love to see him back again in Series 9

Alternatively, for people less hung up on the successes of others, and the public's appreciation of that success, it's an opportunity to get a little closer to the production, and to the mind of a man who has made such joyful episodes.
Jesus, some of you lot are ****ing miserable, and your post says far more about you than anything else.
I don't think there is a site out there on the internet that has more moaners than this one!
There's a lot more to being a showrunner than just being a good writer. Being able to get the show done on time and within budget are also essential qualities. RTD apparently had a reputation for being able to do that.
That's why I said he knows what he's doing.
How do you know that though? He's never been a show runner.
