Looking to upgrade from this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-DVP5980-Multi-region-capable-Upscaling/dp/B000Q7ZCO6
Are Blu ray players that can play those formats on the market?
I have google searched but to no avail.
How much for a reasonably decent brand?

the important thing for me is that it can play .h264 out of an MKV off a disk or USB, and can play xvid in avi.
then connect a NAS hard drive to your router and play all your films straight off it
Anyone know of any others?
Also, cheers for the advice so far.
Sony are good at playing h264, and xvid off usb? i didn't know that they did this at all.
(with the exception of stripped headers in mkv, which are easily changed.)
I have done this but found you cannot get Dolby or DTS on my amp so this is fine if you don't need these.
This is from TVersity.
can you download the file with it encoded on ?
I have not tried playing it from the PS3 but when playing from disk I can get Dolby D.
I use http://www.lg.com/us/tv-audio-video/video/LG-blu-ray-dvd-player-BD390.jsp
Philips 3000 Series BDP3200 for around £75
Must be blu ray can play all new video formats MKV etc and be multi regional for blu ray and dvd.
Thanks
would you also like it to make coffee?
i don't know of any. bluray players are not that expensive but £50 is still quite low. i guess you would be looking at the cheapo manufacturers like sumvision or somehting.
Wow I didn't know they were still going!!
