OMG! Somebody else actually knows who The Bamboos are! I got into them a few years ago when a song of theirs was on Ugly Betty and I adore them! Kylie Auldist has an amazing voice.
Yeah agreed, especially on songs like The Ghost: "If I whisper, can you hear-ear-ear me?". As much as I like their own stuff, though, the de Blob/de Blob 2 soundtracks are possibly even better imo. It's hard to pick but my personal favourites from both are probably:
Mother of God, someone else knows Crush 40!:D I don't love them quite as much as I used to, but I do still have a significant soft spot for them. I like a lot of the songs they've done for the Sonic the Hedgehog games as well as the ones they did for that NASCAR racing game or whatever it was. Open Your Heart is probably one of my favourites from them, though others like I Am and Never Turn Back are good too. Like a certain other artist I like, though, I can concede that their appeal may be limited.
Very talented sisters. Opened for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale tour. Releasing more music later in the year and I think they're gonna be pretty popular.
Used to be obsessed with this song yet no one used to even know who she was and when i played them this song, they loved it.
Michelle Branch is excellent. Her Hotel Paper album from 2003 is still regularly played on my iPod. Just a shame she hasn't released anything since then, but apparantly there's a new album this year
Crime of Passion by Capercaille with Karen Matheson singing, try and get the live @celtic connections version. Hair standing on the back of your head stuff.
Also Chrisie Hind ex Pretenders doing Creep superb

Oh i love them! I downloaded this song when i came back from the Britney concert.
aside from that most of the stuff I listen to nobody will have heard, in this country at least as it is country music.
I had not heard this lovely song in a good few years and wondered what happened to Clifford T Ward. I was saddened to read that he passed away back in 2001. A very talented man indeed.
For me Harry Nilsson never quite got the recognition he deserved. This is one of his more interesting songs. Well worth a listen to. Of course it is a Beatles medley so it will be songs people will have heard of.

"Mr GQ" by Yetunde Johnson
"Higher Ground" by Heather Nova
"Love You So" by Delilah
"Angel" by Natasha Bedingfield
"Later On" by Kate Nash
"Kiss that Grrrl" by Kate Nash
"Saviour" by Lights
It Happens Every Time - Barbara McNair (a little known Motown girl who should have been as big as Diana Ross or Martha Reeves).
Still In Love - Angela Bofill.
If We Could Do It All Over Again - Tomas Ledin.
Turn To Dust - Jane Clifton (an Australian actress best known for being 'Margo Gaffney' in 'Prisoner Cell Block H'!).
This is my mate Col he writes all his own material,a few producers interested in him, but he as been fighting cancer & been very ill the last couple of years & he as beaten cancer twice now & Dr's have gave him the all clear & he is doing really good health wise now & is getting stronger, i drum on some of his tracks, but i am not on this one..
Tell your mate Col to keep it up; he has some genuine talent and it doesn't surprise me that producers are interested. I particularly liked "Tongue and Cheek", his Lennon tribute.
Anyway my obscure songs are by well known artists. I just often seem to have as my favourite some track that not everyone is familiar with,to name but three :
I'm obsessed with Eric Saade's Manboy, especially with the acoustic version. I don't know what makes me love this song since it is not usually the kind of music that I like to listen .
Too many to list, especially as no-one's usually heard of anything by Concrete Blonde, Iron Savior, Conor Oberst or Drive-By Truckers.
Also Your Witness, from the soundtrack of Martyrs. I think most people wimped out of watching it for long enough to notice the lovely music on the credits!
Ah Conor Oberst....Bright Eyes right? Loved his stuff. Ony problem is very like Ryan Adams, he's too damn prolific. I can't keep up!
Michelle Branch is excellent. Her Hotel Paper album from 2003 is still regularly played on my iPod. Just a shame she hasn't released anything since then, but apparantly there's a new album this year
Sadly being signed with Warner Music she's a small fish in a big pond. Till I Get Over You, the 3rd single off HP is a great Beatles-like song but typically Warner Music released it without a video or any promotion so it died a death.
Anyway here's a beautiful song by the sister of Mike Oldfield who is sadly only really known for her hit single Mirrors.
My Morning Jacket - One Big Holiday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEgkgCgRFII
I seriously do not know how this band aren't huge. Their music is amazing, it's like being on drugs sometimes when I listen to their music.
Tired Pony - Pieces http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_6Y8bGZ--g
Side project of Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody. He delivers some beautiful vocals on this track, I could listen to it on repeat for hours!
MGMT - Of Moons, Birds & Monsters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6HXS11l4sw
Okay so I do have friends who know of them, but they only really know Kids, Electric Feel & Time To Pretend. I think this is much better.
The Black Keys - Nova Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmAB7S-oAdA
I have one friend who knows who they are, and she went off to uni on the other side of the country so I officially am alone in liking TBK. Shame because they're amazing!
