Your Favourite EastEnders character is back for the seventh year running - and with Pete Callan stepping down as host after six years, I’m taking over the reigns to find out just who will top the poll this year.

Last year’s poll saw you vote Christian Clarke as your favourite for the second year – but has he done enough this year to keep his crown, or will someone else swoop in and take it from him?

With some big exits this year and some big returns, the playing field has been blown wide open. Will Kat, Carol or Alfie sweep to the top spot or have you taken a shine to some of the newer characters such as Fat Boy, Connor or Glenda? Maybe one of our previous winners will – Dot, Tanya or Ronnie – will reclaim their crown.

There’s only one way to find out – and that’s to start voting.

In total there are 51 characters battling it out to be crowned champion this year – and we need to whittle that down.

This year, the rules have slightly changed...

As with last year, you will need to pick your 3 favourite characters from the list below. The Top 2 from each round will go through to the Final 12. All the other characters are out – so make sure you vote carefully for your favourites.

Don’t worry if your favourite character doesn’t make it into the top 2 though – Round 6 will be a special Last Chance Saloon where the ten highest scoring runners up from the first five rounds compete for the final two slots.
