Weird ipad message

I was just browsing DS (not signed in) and a weird message popped up on the screen saying a girl wanted to chat to me. It didn't look like an ad, it looked like the message was from Apple as it was in a blue box. It said ok or cancel and I pressed cancel. I have no contacts on the Ipad so I have o idea what it was. Is it a virus? I am still on it now and it seems to be working alright. Does anyone know what it could be.

I get them all the time and i'm a woman! Just do what you do and cancel it.
If someone else can tell us how not to get these messages, I would be grateful.

Sounds like thats a sex chat ad.... you sometimes get them on less reputable sites. Just ignore it. It's nothing to worry about

Hmm... might be worth contacting the mods and alerting them.... could be that one of the adverts they're displaying is well dodgy. You should be safe enough anyway on the iPad.

Thanks for the advice, I'll get in touch with ds and see if they know anything about it.
I seem to remember a few months ago a thread where people trying to get on DS from their iPads were being directed to a porn site or porn ad.

Do you have popups set to be blocked in the Safari settings... (I assume you're using Safari...?)

I'm using chrome but I think I'll switch to safari if it has a pop up blocker. Thanks again.

Chrome has a pop up blocker too... but try switching to Safari and see if that stops the pop up.

Do you know if there are any good ad blockers for Safari?

Sorry but the iPad safari doesn't allow addons like adblockers. You're stuck with the adverts on the iPad

Just for info, you can make a screenshot by pressing the the home and sleep buttons together so if you need to show someone what you're seeing you can do it that way.

That's a shame, the ads on here can get pretty intrusive at times.

Good idea, I'll remember that if it happens again, since using Safari I've not had any more pop up.
