Its another random 'Lets get Zelebs to do stuff' elimination sports show.
Presented by Davina McCall and Alex Brooker, The Jump sees six brave men and six brave women from the worlds of sport, film, television, music and fashion take to the slopes as they compete against each other in six winter sporting disciplines including bobsleigh, speed skating, slalom skiing and a live ski jump.

The daring new series features Amy Childs, Anthea Turner, Darren Gough, Henry Conway, Kimberly Wyatt, Laura Hamilton, Marcus Brigstocke, Melinda Messenger, Nicky Clarke, Ritchie Neville, Sinitta and Sir Steve Redgrave, competing from a mountainside in Austria in a series of winter sport events, with the bottom two facing elimination each night by taking their chances on the dreaded 'jump'.

Apparently Tara Palmer-Tomkinson was supposed to be in it too but quit (Replaced by Laura Hamilton) and Sam J. Jones too was supposed to be in (Shoulder injury got him taken off and replaced by Richie Neville)

The 'Celeb' names have me instantly running away from this one... Anyone elses thoughts?

It might be a bit better than The Splash. C4 seem to trying to big it up making it out to be dangerous but given those taking part I suspect a lot of clever Camera work will be used some how I cannot see Amy Childs Ski Jumping. I doubt C4 could afford the insurance premium neither

So on one side we have Zelebrities jumping in to water and on the other we have Zelebrities jumping off ice.

A sign producers are running out of ideas...

It sounds terrible (like that show channel four had a few years ago with Charley Boreman in, when we all ended up watching the Towering Inferno instead). But I'm starting to think someone's going to end up seriously injured one of these days as the channels try to out do each other.

Sounds more like "The Games" which ran for three series:

In that "celebs" did summer Olympic sports. It was actually a really good show and they took it very seriously.

Don't worry it will be largely faked. The most dangerous thing Amy Childs will do will be putting on her make up

The same old z-listers would still queue up to appear.

I agree, I really enjoyed The Games.

I liked this article in The Guardian about how The Jump seems to be cursed

That was an awful show. "ZOMG it is sewwwww dangerous!!!!" theme that The Jump seems to share.

That Alex bloke is not a very good presenter.

    'No, he is actually here'.

    We didn't say he wasn't.
