Most Disappointing Game-Watch Dogs.Game was over hyped so much and failed to deliver.
Best Developer/Gaming Company- This has come as a shock to myself, but i'm giving it to EA. EA access provides amazing value and they haven't charged for any DLC in Garden Warfare. Well done to them.

In the past year, they have done so much to overturn the balls up of 2013 and I think they've done a very good job.

I found it so boring. Just another generic shooter to me.

The first glimpse of No Mans Sky at E3. Amazing what game devs can come up with.

Final Fantasy XV / Batman: Arkham Knight
I think Mario Kart 8 takes it as it's familiar yet fresh, great single player online, or with friends, well designed and beautiful to look at. It also nailed it with its recent DLC giving the fans what they wanted at a great price
The Most Underrated Game
Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare: It was a game that was never going to be taken seriously as an competitive multiplayer game, but it was much better than was expected and actually very fun.
Console Of the year
In many ways it has to be the PS4 as it's been flying off the shelves all year...but I'm going for the Wii U. Mario Kart, Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, Smash Bros. It had very strong calibre exclusives this year, and its sales have jumped as a result. Whilst the console is still a commercial letdown, its reputation and sales have largely been improved in 2014 and it has stopped being the joke it once was,

The return of the Space Combat sim, a genre long thought to be dead. But now....Star Citizen keeps getting more and more funding, No Man's Sky looks stunning, Elite is back, and Gog re-released the PC Star Wars sims from the 90s to much fanfare. I'm very pleased about this

Easily the number of 'big games' that failed to live up to the hype. This always happens, but there were many this year. In my opinion....Titanfall, Driveclub, Watchdogs, Little Big Planet 3, AC Unity, Destiny

Microsoft, I think they have repaired a lot of the (substantial) ill feeling towards them. Dropping Kinect bundles, getting Phil Spencer in, getting a good Christmas line up.....It's all good old fashioned listening to what their customers want

Star Wars Battlefront
Driveclub. Although it had its problems to begin with, it's taken over from PGR 4 as my favourite racer of all time thanks to its amazing graphics, sound, handling, track design & community.

Child of Light. Excellent art style, story, characters & old school combat system which took me back to FFVII

Trials Fusion. Really challenging & addictive. One of those "just one more shot" games

Xbox One. Although I have no intention in getting one & very few exclusives interest me, hats off to Microsoft for getting it back on track

The Most Underrated Game - Sniper Elite 3 - Love it - Killcam never gets boring and it's just pure fun

Console Of the year - PS4 (I've spent much more time on my PS4 so I can't possibly award it to xbox one despite Microsoft sorting things out)
Most Overrated Game - Sunset Overdrive (one of the most overrated games ever, can't stand it)
Best Thing about Gaming in 2014 - Shareplay - Remoteplay with PSTV, I know pstv has had some harsh critics but for me remote playing my ps4 in my bedroom is excellent providing you've got the equipment for a decent stable connection
Worst Thing about gaming in 2014 - Big issues on AAA titles that we shouldn't be seeing on a games release.
Most Disappointing Game - Thief - Potentially this could of been great but turned out to be a let down, I've played through it and did enjoy some of the missions but became more & more frustrating as the game went on.

Worst Developer/Gaming Company - Evolution Studios - Driveclub I'm sure is a better game than the reviews suggest, I'm disappointed after the extra year they've spent to get things right and they still completely mess it up, was excited to try the ps+ version with the intent of a purchase but they can't even release that. I've lost interest for now, I'm sure it's a game I'll get around to once most of the problems are sorted.

Wolfenstein: New Order: it offers a complelling narrative for an FPS, no online multiplayer which I actually thought was a good thing

Titanfall: its very accessible to those who aren't FPS hardcore (like me), the only bug bear is its all online but as I say a very fun and occasionally a laugh.
Best Indie Game/Downloadable Game
Destiny: I say this because its the only download I have bought this year save the freebies given on PS+ each month.
Console Of the year
I love my PS4 and all the games for it, however the last 12 months Xbox One has been playing a blinder, they are corrected every single mistake from launch. The console is turning into a bit of a dark horse, but every update brings new features....which Sony could learn from. Suspend and resume is a killer feature sadly lacking for the other consoles. To be clear I have far more games for the PS4 and only around 2 physicals ones for the Xbox One, but it has to win it for remaining determined and eventually coming out the other side showing humility and thanks.

AC: Unity the game is unpolished and honestly a piss take, EA learned the hard way last year with BF: 4 and now Ubisoft its learning the same fate. Eventually gamers will move with their wallets if this keeps happening, right now they deserve all the shit they are getting.

I have a bunch of consoles and a gaming PC, but the most fun this year was had on the Wii-U, so my list ended up having a bit of a Nintendo slant.
Alien Isolation. Wasn't everyone's cup of tea but for me was the first game to have me on constantly on edge, so I would say it nailed it's attempt at being a survival horror game. Plus it looked and sounded great.
