An idea for the Dyke's FA Review to consider
With the PL declining the invitation to join the FA Committee looking into the future of English football, preferring to look after their own worldwide interest, maybe the solution is to allow Man Utd A et al into the league on the proviso they only field home-grown talent.
It would require the biggest overhaul of football in England for decades and would be bound to be rejected, but surely it's exactly what English players need, competitive football with a purpose.
I don't know in detail how it works in Spain regarding the registration of player at Barcelona and Barcelona A and transferring between the two but, as a model, it seems to work.
If we have to wait to do anythinguntil the inevitable upheaval when the World Cup in Qatar moves to winter, then so be it, it gives plenty of time for planning.

It will also make no difference to the state of the England national team.
Improving coaching from the ground up would. But anything that involves a cap on those evil foreign players who are ruining the England national team is nothing more than a political type move. Fairly recent history proves that limited the number of foreign players in the top English leagues makes no difference to the fortunes of the England team.
We need to make sure youngsters are in the game for the love of it and encouraged to improve their game rather than be given massive contracts at 18 and all the perks that come with being a young professional now.
Need to make sure they earn it rather than demand it...
Exactly. England need to raise the standard of coaching so the kids are being picked ahead of the foreign players because they are better, not punting out the foreigners so that the standard drops to the level that the kids get picked.
Probably because England didn't class Scottish, Welsh and Irish players as foreign so even then we still never had the minimum 7 English players playing - wasn't it the 1986 Liverpool FA Cup final team that famously had no English players? and when we got back in Europe after the ban European rules had changed so Scottish, Welsh and Irish players in England were part of the 4 foreigners rule and some English clubs had problems selecting a team.
Yes I remember that stupid foreigners ruling, the game in Barcelona springs to mind immediately.
It is not about the quantity of English players, but the quality of them.
We need a quota to prevent useless yes-men like Greg Dyke, Stuart Pearce, Gareth Southgate etc....being selected for high profile and influential jobs at the top level of English football.
Improving coaching all round would certainly help, but if my son's experience is anything to go by it's incredibly hard to get into even if you have the passion and the will.
My son is a licensed FA level 2 coach who has recently moved away from home to go to University to study Sports Science.
He wants to continue to gain more coaching badges and would like to complete his youth awards before working on a specialism. His career ambition is to be a football coach.
He has written to over 20 clubs from grass roots level to some in the (very) lower leagues offering free coaching in return for the experience he needs to continue his professional development.
Despite being very clear that he comes free of charge, will pay all his own FA examination and course fees and that he's already DBS cleared and qualified not one bothered to reply to him.
He has excellent references from the local FA where we live and from the clubs he coached with here, yet having moved to a new area nobody will even bother to say "Thanks but no thanks".
When he rang a few to chase up his letters he was told variations on "We don't know who you are so we won't be able to use you".
That may be so, but they never will know him if they don't at least give him a trial to see if he's any good.
He's said he'll keep on trying clubs further away from where he's now based, but he is getting a bit despondent about it all.
