Can you buy a black cab for personal use?

I'd like to drive around with the light on, pull up in front of some wannabe passengers, then zoom off into the distance as they approach.

Stephen Fry drives one, so I expect so.

Providing you don't pick people up for business then sure it's allowed, not sure on the sign though.

A friend of mine had one - it was a great car, they can turn on a sixpence, and they are very economical! You're not allowed to use the sign - I think he had to have it removed.

You cant have any markings or signs that would make anyone think it is an operational taxi.

Yes! You could drive round all night on Nov 5th, shooting people from the black cab - no-one would see or hear you!

Yes watching Steven Fry at the moment.

I had a friend who had a black cab. He said when he was stopped at the lights in London people would jump in the back and he'd have to tell them he was a private car and would they please jump out again.

I fancy a black cab myself.

I'm not sure how much an old say 10 years old one would cost but if it's serviced regularly I think it would be good to own.

could be a silly question but would it have child locks like a normal car
