I've seen this mentioned elsewhere as well (something to do with syndication??) What does that actually mean?
Once a show reaches 88 episodes (4 seasons, typically) it can sold to local stations for them to repeat. The episodes are then aired nightly across the week, instead of once-per-week.
The fact that Nikita has been renewed for a 3rd season, despite poor ratings, means that they will benefit financially in the long-run by also renewing it for a 4th (barring a seriously dramatic drop in ratings).
I have the first two seasons stacked up to watch back to back and was waiting for a season three renewal before embarking on them. I have only read good things about this series from the fans on here. This would be correct?

Thanks NinjyBear. Seems obvious now that you've explained it

That would be correct... Nikita is easily one of the best shows on TV right now. Like someone else said, it reminds me of Alias, which was another awesome spy/action show starring Jennifer Garner.
Didnt' see this thread as I don't frequent this section very often. Just wanted to say...
"Wooooooohoooooooo!" I am over the moon to say the least! I honestly thought The CW would cancel it after what other people on DS were saying.
It's the most high octane show on tele. It's well produced, well acted, loads of great twists and it has a good story. This series has just got better and better and I am chuffed we're getting a 3rd season and now very much likely a 4th!
I think they mean La Femme Nikita, that airs on SyFy and is based on the same film Nikita is based on.
When this MaggieQ Nikita series was announced I was all confused as to how it fitted in with the Peta Wilson La Femme Nikita series - a sequel, a prequel, a redo ????
(iiuc) What we have is this:
This MaggieQ Nikita is a direct sequel to the movie Nikita (1990) starring Anne Parillaud.
The Peta Wilson, La Femme Nikita series, used their ep1 to redo(ish) the original movie, tweaking bits so the story could be expanded into a tv-series.

Yes!! So happy!
Although if all else fails, the DVD/BDs are out on 17th September........
Anyway, i' happy for you fans as you will likely get a fourth season too.
No sign of the Blu-rays
Apologies. I assumed the BDs given that Season 1 was released. The DVDs are out in September.
Season 2 is on Sky Living in June.

According to DS season 2 will be on $ky Atlantic. I suppose it was only a matter of time before $ky started putting all there good shows on Atlantic.
