If you've got one as an example, take it along to your local plumber's merchants and they will probably be able to match it up for you.

Its to connect my cooker into the wall. I lost one :(

Have you tried looking under the cooker?

(BTW how big is this screw? Grub screws are normally tiny things used for fixing knobs to spindles. And what do you mean by connecting -- attaching to the wall, or connecting to a gas or electric supply?)

The fact it's a brass grub-screw suggests that it's come out of an electrical connecting box of some sort to me.

It fell down a hole where the cooker connects in the wall.

    Its 8mm wide. 7mm long

Its part of the box thing that the wires go into.

OK, part of a connector. It might be awkward to buy them individually.

I might try Wilkinsons and look inside junction boxes (it will be a big amperage) to see which would have a matching screw, then just buy the whole unit, they don't cost much. Or you can try a proper electrical supplier if there's one nearby.

Ultimately, you could just replace the whole connector box. Don't forget to turn off the power first...

If you have a Plumb Centre near you, try them - they sell all sorts, and can often come up with something like that. They've got 4 branches in Scotland...

Or Plumbase, City Plumbing, or any decent sized merchants.

    It's a grub screw
I suppose it would be if it's used on the cooker.

    Butter-fingers!

If you attach a piece of tubing to a vacuum cleaner with a hose, duck-tape should do it, you might be able to retrieve it. Pity it’s brass, otherwise a magnet on a piece of string might have done it.

Next time, put a ball of blu-tack on the end of the screwdriver to hold the screw on, it makes life much easier.
