...Thousands of children were left without offers of primary school places this year
Proof privatisation works
Data from the Department for Education shows that almost 77,000 schoolchildren in England – 12.3 per cent – failed to secure places at their first choice primary school for September.
Figures show that more than 22,400 pupils – 3.6 per cent – missed out on any school named by parents on their application form. This can range from three to six schools depending on their council area.
It also emerged that more than 3,700 children – 0.6 per cent – failed to get an offer of any state primary for September after being rejected from up to six schools.

One of the many "benefits" of mass immigration more like.
Ooh, I lost my bet with myself - I said it would be 3 posts before someone blamed foreigners
How does it compare to 2009?
Well they are to blame for some of the problem, no point pretending they are not.
A Government report said the number of pupils missing out on places in some areas was because councils "are waiting for confirmation of a new school opening in September 2014, or because they are in the process of organising bulge classes” – where an extra class is squeezed in to an otherwise full school.
It suggests large numbers of children listed as being without a school in the statistics will find a place by September.
The DfE also insisted it was making £5bn available to create more school places during this parliament – double the sum spent prior to 2010.
Yes. The majority were born outside the UK.
