Just looked up the website - I was born a day after HMS ship sank an argentine cruiser and a day bofore HMS Sheffield was destroyed. And i was born in Sheffield.
Not a major world event but my mum was heavily pregnant with me during the big drought of 1976 - 14 consecutive days the temperature topped 32°C in southern England.
14 February 1990. Not so sure as I would have not known as I was a baby and my memory didn't kick in until 1992\3 and eve then that was very, very faint.
I remember the day well. I was on TV for the first time!
My Birthday: RAF Greenham Common, Berkshire, and the disused RAF Molesworth in Cambridgeshire, were announced by Secretary of State for Defence Francis Pym, as the locations for the first 160 US nuclear missiles to be based on British soil

..(Obviously not the same year )
You've got the same birthday as me, nothing interesting happened the exact year i was born either.:D
By the way - I would be careful what you claim as happening on your date of birth as you are effectively putting it out on the net....not a good idea.
Obviously okay if it's something like the cuban missile crisis which lasted a while but not, for instance, the assasination of someone.
I remember the day well. I was on TV for the first time!
That's the only 'major' event that happened for me.
Aptly, the week of my sixteenth birthday Madness's "House of fun" was number one - three years later Paul Hardcastle's "Nineteen" hit the top spot.
Go figure...
I got that off wikipedia! I was born on May 4th though!
That is a bit complicated. They changed the calendar in 1752 so all the dates get shifted 11 days forward.
I conceived my second son in Feb 1986!
Pretty major for you.
Also the Westland crisis took place in January 1986.
