Tunein may be an answer to some who miss having an FM Radio on their phone. Streams BBC and commercial radio stations via wifi or 3G. I use it to listen to "Gold" London 1548khz in stereo here in the Midlands.
What I think was happening for me (and this is just a theory)
At work I have a strong mobile signal - but it's strictly standard 2G only no chance of 3G
We have patchy Wifi Signal in the building
When it was losing the WiFi signal it was trying to switch over to a 3G connection - failing and therefore dropping connection to the mobile network completely and then not being able to find it again as described on that bug page.
Since I've set it to use 2G only it hasn't played up at all - been fine all day.
The androidpolice page did mention that it was a problem limited to the nexus 4 and also related to MVNOs (which I do use as I'm on giffgaff) it could be that it only affects you if you're an MVNO customer and in an area where there is no 3g signal
I'll manage with manually switching it over while I'm in work - and hopefully the bug will get fixed in a future OTA update

Yes, Tunein is the best radio app imo. Really is great. Loads of choice and you can choose between different quality streams. Also the pro version let's you record stations.

But a good signal is required and the data package needs to be pretty good.
The 3G around here with vodafone is awful.
Im thinking of the £159 nexus or a galaxy s3 mini..sim free and getting a monthly card..but im worried the nexus mightbe too complicated for me and maybe the samsung galaxy s3 mini is more manageable

the £159 8GB nexus will probably be almost impossible to get now... believe it's now sold out and won't be re-stocked.

too late then..
if you have a nexus 4 and connect to your own house broadband , can you use as much as you like and this doesnt affect any sim deals ..also whats the difference between an 8 gb and 16 gb nexus ..

I wouldn't no.
That radio is for the US, not ours.
I haven't had this bug yet on mine however.

If you think that was fast just wait until you check out the phone!

As complicated as you want to make it. Many people are just as happy with feature phones.
yes your right. its only complicated if you make it so...anyhow Ive bought the 16 gb Nexus 4 and will see how it goes.
Looks like they're all gone then!
