I've not played for a while, worried about it crashing again and again and I don't really want to play without online features as I don't think it will save any badges I get?
Hey Sims fans. I'm getting the Dragon Valley pack for my niece when it releases. Is there a physical copy or is it just digital? There's no mention of it on Origin (despite returng 160+ results for Sims 3!) and there's still no gift function (odd for EA moneygrabbers.)

It's a (payable), downloadable neighbourood from the store isn't it?

Yup, it'll work like Monte Vista. You buy it directly from the store on the 'buy Simpoints' page. You can choose either the ordinary version, or the gold version. The gold version will come at a higher price but it will include an exclusive furniture set and just enough Simpoints to purchase the venue for the world which includes the violin, archery set, and the armoured black dragon premium sets. Price wise, you'll be looking at around £12 for the ordinary version, about £20 for the gold version.
The boxed copy won't be released until August and to be honest, you may as well just buy it directly from the store as a download. The boxed copy comes literally as just a slimline DVD box with a code inside it (literally, just a piece of paper with a code on it) which you can use on the site to download it.
I'd personally get the gold version which I did with Monte Vista. For the extra bit of money you get a LOT more items and THREE extra pieces of premium content; really making gold worthwhile on this world. This is the one thing I can praise TS3 store team for; they are packing more and more content into each pack they release lately. Probably because they're worried sales will drop with the announcement of TS4, but hey, I'm not complaining!
Right then.. got Seasons installed. Haven't played a great deal just yet (game went a bit buggy before install so I'm trying to take it easy) but looks great so far.
Question though.. do you have to set up the festivals (I see the booths etc. in build/buy) or does it just set up itself?

Most of the worlds have a lot which will automatically become the Festival Lot. You can also make your own or, for a couple of the worlds (Monte Vista for sure) there is a Festival Lot on the Exchange made by one of the SimsGurus which you can download and use to replace one of the parks.
I've just been playing around in Dragon Valley, I absolutely love it, best of their world releases so far for me as I love the whole medieval theme to it.
I'm also stupidly excited for Island Paradise now having seen the Producer's Walkthrough video, can't wait until the end of the month to get that
Dragon Valley does look good, but I'm really tempted to get Monte Vista. The only other store world I've purchased was Hidden Springs which was a little underwhelming. Is MV worth it?

I liked Hidden Springs as well, I liked the change in pace of having a world full of uber rich villas and swanky pads!
I've got all of the Worlds available from the Store. Monte Vista is nice, it's got a European/Italian feel to it but there's nothing really special or additional to the world unlike Dragon Valley apart from the Pizza Oven.
Of all the worlds I would say without any doubt that Dragon Valley is my favourite simply because of the Medieval styling of the world, it's very much "fantasy" mythology meets dirt roads and stone paths etc.
Well I've just done a stupid thing. I've been trying to watch a few Youtube vids of MV to see if I want to buy it. Made my mind up that I'll splash out... but then clicked on a walkthrough of Lucky Palms - now I'm torn, I do like the '60's style of the buildings, but it doesn't look like it offers much more. Dammit.

All of the worlds have at least one unique object that adds additional game play. Lucky Palms gold edition has the poker table and the blackjack/roulette wheel if I remember rightly.
I went for Dragon Valley because the look of all of the other worlds can be almost constructed from just the base game itself with a bit of time and effort but DV introduces new dirt roads, paved walkways etc and the style of the buildings for the rabbit holes are completely different - a real mix of high fantasy Lord of the Rings Rivendell style meets Medieval.
I'm not fussed by the casino aspect of Lucky Palms, I doubt I'd even send my Sims there. So MV it is.. lol.
DV does look like it as a great quality to it, I wonder will it be the last store world?
Yeah that's possible, there's only the last two EPs (Island Paradise this month and I believe one called Future or similar) to come out and possibly one more Stuff Pack before they stop working on Sims 3 and move onto Sims 4.
DV is superb, I have to say it's probably my favourite world out of all of them, in game and store creations. Even without the dragons, I love the layout of the world, the building style etc.
I got her 5000 points in the end. 1900 for the DV pack (gold) and some to play with. Actually impressed with the amount of stuff you get with the gold pack. More than Simcity's total items by the looks of it:D
I've plumbed for Monte Vista, really happy with it. Even started a new proper game, no cheats and just starting with one Sim. Going well so far but a bit tricky..

There will undoubtedly be more store worlds released.
Also, they're not going to stop working on TS3 once TS4 is released. They have confirmed that they will continue making and releasing new content for TS3 in TS3 Store. It's just the expansions and stuff packs that will stop. So, if you don't like/can't run/don't want to move on too early to TS4, you can carry on spending money on TS3, LOL.

I'll try playing while not been logged in for online features until a patch is ready.
I've finally took the plunge and ordered Seasons and '70s '80s & '90s. Can't wait to get that installed.
Thanks in advance:)
