OK I'll enter this domain as the first 'oldie' :o

In my day there were far better things than there are now! I'm not going back to Muffiin The Mule either!!

    BUT:-
The Double Deckers, Robinson Crusoe (Lordy that ran for ages!), Daktari, and White Horses were favourites in the summer holidays.
The 70's produced some excellent dramas like Timeslip, Ace of Wands, Follyfoot as well as comedies like Pardon My Genie, Catweazle, Worzel Gummidge and Do Not Adjust Your Set (I think Pauline Quirke was in that and Denise Coffey).
Magpie and Blue Peter used to compete with each other. I loved the way that BBC's Blue Peter used to ask for bottle-tops etc for their Xmas Appeals, whereas Thames TV used to just ask for money up-front :) Obviously Magpie got more money than its counterpart!
Loved the long-running 'Tomorrow People' too ! Ooh I've just remembered Pipkins!!
    I could go on forever.............

Blimey! that list takes me back, wasn't Peter Firth (Spooks) in the Double Deckers)......great choices
