Go to www.asda.com and click on the "Your Local Store" tab and type in your postcode to get your store details. Or if you prefer, give me the name of the store you bought it from and i will check for you.

Many stores are either 10PM, 12AM or 24 Hours, only the small ones shut at 8 or 9PM.

The 1002w hack is the same as before and you only need to enter it once...

    Open drawer
    Clear
    1,3,6,9,0
    Close drawer

Works fine on R2, R1 and R4 at least...!

Ps. I never did take it back...

They play +R and +RW without problems as well. BTW i got mine at 45 quid about 4 months ago, it was also region free out of the box.

Do they play MP3 CD's or MP3 DVD's (ie MP3's written to a DVD+/-R/RW). Do they also read JPEG files.

    I have a Pacific 1002W.....

Now for some reason when I open the dvd tray it closes automatically by itself... Could this be the result of inputting an incorrect code? If so is it possible for this to be undone?

is the eject button stuck down?

    Cheers....

The Button does not appear to be jammed.... But I think its worth a closer look!

In your experience do you think its more likely a mechanical fault rather than something that was caused by trying a remote hack?

Very strange, It does appear to be some form of mechanical fault. If the box is tilted on its side forward or back, even upside down the eject works OK.... !!!!!!!!!!

Asda are going to love me.... This will be the third time i've returned a dvd player, At least It appears to be a problem that was not of my making.....

The current batch of 1002w players (in the updated box with the new slim remote) are causing a lot of problems. All relating to the front panel/draw in most cases.

Returned the player yesterday and got a refund....

I had planned just to exchange it for another one but there were non to be found !!!!! The good thing about getting one from Asda it the 3 year guarantee + the fact you have no problems returning stuff.

Now the question is.... Do Asda sell a DVD player that does everything the Pacific one does (Jpeg,Mpeg,Mp3 ect) but doesn't fall to bits after a couple of weeks. Or is there a Dogs bollox of a DVD that you could recommend.....
