There are about 20 MP's on each side.

I thought this was going to be a showdown, more like a damp squib.

Any thread with EU referendum in the title would do it. There's plenty about.

There's one - there is at least one other on the opening page, and several on page 2.

The idea of live action at Westminster sounds ever so slightly oxymoronic.

Peter Bone speaking now, Conservative side down to about 10 MP's. He is supporting the bill put down by the Government yesterday.

Slightly disappointing in that I thought this was going to be a stand alone debate but some people are using their speeches for all sorts of other subjects so there's no flow to the debate..........

    This is historic stuff.

When was the last time that the PM allowed his own backbenchers to discuss a motion amending his very own Queens Speech ?

This wouldn't have happened in Blair's time. He would have "crushed the rebels like beetles!"

I don't think it's a case of the PM 'allowing it'............I don't think hes in charge of the proceedure of the House

Just like he's not in charge of the Tory party..............

Well, there doesnt appear to be a tory party any more.

There's a bunch of people that are just pandering to whatever seems popular at the minute without forethought or care at the consequences to the nation, because it may keep them in a job in 18 months.

They are showing politicians for what they are, self aggrandising blow hards who will say and do anything to keep money and power , people who say what they think is wanted to be heard, not people who have a beleif in anything, other than their own prosperity.

The labour lot are, of course, no better.

er no - actually this is the Queen's Speech debate - the amendments are voted on later in the session (around 7:00pm) first amendment G will be voted on - then amendment b - and then the whole thing is voted on either changed or unchanged.

Jacob Rees-Mogg. Wisest mp in Parliament. Famed for saying council officials who issue on-the-spot fines should wear bowler hats.

Yes but they are debating the amendment within the Queens speech debate, amongst other matters.
