Bored of Thomas. What is his reasonings for being such a jerk?
Agree, there is no need.
I have feeling when Thomas finds out he will feel bad. Which he should do if the Character is even remotely human. Anna has done nothing towards him
Carson has just baulked at the idea of a black person!
Baulked is putting it mildly...near collapsed I would have said. All that needs to happen is Lady Edith make a little announcement and he'll lift off for orbit
Isn't he a valet and her a lady's maid? They're quite high-ranking servants + by this period servants' wages had increased.
The place is a bit grand but Cora did refer to it as a 'ghastly hotel' so perhaps she's slumming it a bit
They would have been on very lowly wages and even more so because their board and lodgings would be deducted too.
Any book or account I have ever read describes just getting by on their wages. There was very little over and something like a cup of tea and a bun at a Lyons tea house would have been an absolute luxury.
Comments
Evelyn Napier is not new. He was from s1
The lady does protest too much and that was the first 3 minutes.
He was in Poirot last week (I think)
perhaps i should have said "re-newed".....:o
Yes, he was (according to imdb, anyway)

1. Violet and Isobel
2. Daisy being a madam
3. Cora clearly sloshed
4. Rose and her "surprise"
Very good episode I think.
An absolutely cracking episode tonight
Yes he was.
You forgot Mrs Hughes being bad ass again
Yes, he was the bloke that brought along the Turkish guest who died in Mary's bed.

Oh yes!
Mr Carson would drop more than his cup of tea if he came across that!!
Err, did you ever show it to her, in the past 4 seasons??

Yeah, he wasn't in it enough the last time. I really like Gary as Fidel in Death in Paradise.
