I Tunes on more than one PC

I have I tunes on my laptop for my touch and hubster has it on his pc for his pad, we use the same account with Itunes and same log in.
If I want to buy a game he has bought it tells me and allows me to download it for free but it doesn't seem to do this for music or movies, so I have on my laptop what I have bought and those I have transferred but shouldn't you automatically get what the other pc has bought as a download?
