Ed is at The DW Stadium, currently pitchside with Andy Cole & Dwight Yorke.

I predict Provan at SoL and then Alan Smith at DW

great tribute on tony gubba on ff today

Yes, and on Match of the Day and The Fotball League Show, and of course nice to hear Gerald Sinstadt again, albeit in very sad circumstances. Shame we didn't get Mark Hughes pulling up his trousers as if to say job done, mind.

Why was Charlton v Millwall considered as a main game? Surely Hull v Nottingham Forest should've been - and I'm not speaking in hindsight.

The most surprising thing about that choice is surely that it was a 12.30 kick-off because it seems weird not to have a 3pm kick-off televised internationally. I don't recall many Charlton matches as a featured game this season, though, maybe they were contractually obliged to do a Charlton home game and chose this one as a derby.

One interesting thing on ESPN's coverage yesterday was that Jon Champion did the pre- and post-match interviews, making it surely one of the very few live Premier League matches with no reporter. Presumably The Lovely Rebecca Lowe had to pull out at the last minute.

Alan Parry detests Sunderland. Any excuse to mention Newcastle and that 5-1 win for them particular

Anytime he commentates on us we have a 5-1 bingo on our forum and it comes in all the time:D

I normally like Ed Chamberlain but thought he had a nightmare there at half-time. He acted all surprised when hearing the officials had said Bunn had been sent off for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity when it was immediately obvious that was why he'd been dismissed - players don't get sent off for handball on the halfway line! When the pundits were then discussing whether it was handballl Chamberalin started going on about 'but did it deny a goal scoring opportunity?' That's only relevant if it was handball! It really is time some of the media acquired a grasp of the basic Laws of the Game.

But then how did the referee get the matchball?!

And what were Cole and Yorke on about post-match? Yes it was a poor decision by the officials not to give Norwich a penalty in the second half but they kept going on about inconsistency. It's nothing to do with incosistency is it? The officials thought it was outside the area so they (incorrectly) gave the free kick. It's fair enough to criticise the decision but it's nothing to do with consistency is it?

This weekend has been the most baffling in terms of studio comments that I can remember for a while.

He was there at half time. Due to ESPN going on air a couple of minutes before kickoff, Richard Hughes was straight on commentary instead of previewing the match in the studio.
