I just dread the Labour Thought Police State we are heading towards.

What an absolutely LUDICROUS proposal - how the heck do you define "Islamaphobia"?

It's Labour business as usual. Legislate to protect the most homophobic bunch of people in the land whilst patronising the gay community. The spirit of Ken Livingstone lives on. How on earth can anyone vote for this idiot?

I'm not a leftie or a righty but it goes both ways. The Gagging law has seen a number of organisations unable to comment openly - and Eric Pickles has threatened charities with losing some of their state funding if they speak out against the government's reforms and the effect they are having on the vulnerable.

Because they know they're right, like all the PC mob. All the rest of us can do is try to be fair to everyone, but resist the utter madness that Grommet and his sickening party may try to force upon us.

Not that the Tories and utterly useless Lib-Dem liars are any better.

I think people could be over-reacting here - especially with your own "PC mob" and "sickening party" comments! We don't know exactly what is being proposed, and in any case Labour is unlikely to win a majority and be able to fulfil all its promises.

Rotherham, Rochdale etc - they just don't learn. Do people really have such short memories that they want to vote in this shower again? The mind boggles, it really does.

God only knows what this country will be like after five years of a Labour government.

    From all governments.

Mind you when parents ban their children from going to a mosque in Exeter because they might be shot you do have to wonder.

You sleepwalk into it if you like.

Everyone else should be aware and alert to this insidious threat.

Well, I think the existing religious hate laws (which include hatred against atheists) are sufficient.

Do you include in your "insidious threat" comment those who do discriminate on the grounds of religion, by the way?

You mean Indian Restaurants that would never employ a white Christian? Or a Roman Catholic school that has 100% Catholic staff?

    Yes, I do include those.

I am speaking of all cases of religious discrimination - why do you feel the need to qualify it?

I was just giving examples, just in case you were implying that legislation for secular education could be interpreted as "religious discrimination".

I doubt it as it's one of few things we agree on.

Are you new to this forum?

A regular number of contributors continuously fulminate against Islam and those who practise it - occasionally, in my view, bordering on illegality.

Have you really never noticed?

    Hi
    Are you a Muslim ?

I'm on here on an off. But Islam is currently a very hot topic in the West has been for a decade ...why would you want to prevent people from discussing the place and impact of Islam ?
I believe everyone should be able to practise their religion freely - but in private. The secular democratic states laws are above any religions laws. I feel privledged to live in a tolerant free liberal Europe - as Im sure you do too . I couldnt imagine living in a theocratic state or a state whose laws were base on any religion - I assume you agree with me on this ?

Labour certainly are a threat to free speech, but not as much as the ludicrous internet censorship proposal in the Tory manifesto, which would put us on a similar level to China and Iran, and actually slightly worse than Turkey.

    I loathe the term "Islamaphobia".

I am anti-religion in general. Unfortunately it now seems to be reaching the stage where if you are as consistently anti-Islamic ideology as you are other religions you are now a "racist" or an "Islamaphobe" and "far right". Just ask Richard Dawkins.

Now it appears you will also get a criminal record. It's this sort of madness that means I no longer have anybody to vote for as there are no liberal parties left that don't pander to religions.

In "fairness" to Miliband, I believe Theresa May aslo suggested something similar.

I fully expect you to be wrong.
