New Garage Door Advice Please

Our 30 year old metal 'up and over' garage door has had two new sets of springs in its lifetime and another spring has just broken.
We were already planning to get a new door but this has made the decision more 'urgent'. (Not really urgent but we do need it for access occasionally.)
We would like a white UPVC (or similar) door.
I quite like the idea of a side hinged door.
Are there any national companies (specialist garage door ornot) who are good? (Obviously we shall look at local companies too.)
What sort of price are we looking at? (I'm thinking £700/800.)
Are the side hinged doors more expensive - are there any drawbacks to the side hinged doors - the garage is a storage area not for the car.
Any advice much appreciated.

Anyway OH is looking at prices online and having a bit of a heart attack.
We may have to go with steel.
Is £800 unrealistic, I'm sure a neighbour said something similar for their door.
But thank you very much for taking the trouble to reply - it's quite pssoibly helped a lurker.
So. We have a quote we like the look of - two different types of Cardale door for under £700.
Plastic coated steel or ABS.
The plastic coated steel has a grained effect that we aren't too keen on - it wouldn't go with the front door which is right next to the garage - so we are inclined towards the ABS.
Anybody got an opinion on this material? It's supposed to be the best one to match other uPVC fittings such as the door and windows (although they are oldish and not sparkling white any more).
It's described as the same material as car bumpers and therefore quite resistant to knocks. (Flexes and bounced back apparently.) It's steel reinforced.
Anybody got one of these? Another firm's saleman considered plastic garage doors a bit 'flimsy' but I don't know if he just wanted to steer us towards something else (he was way too expensive anyway, even for a steel door).
Anybody got any opinions?
Thanks
I should've sexed it up somehow shouldn't I?
Will ABS be sound proof enough to keep my garage orgies private?
