I can't tell them apart either, which isn't exactly a glowing recommendation for their characterisation! I hadn't noticed the camp thing, just that he's clearly been hired for his looks.
He's absolutely woeful. He seems to think he's in a panto, but judging by the standard of acting portrayed by almost all Corrie newcomers this year, perhaps he is.
His ludicrous, dated and painfully bad dialogue doesn't help one iota. Even Kenneth Branagh would struggle with such diabolical dreck.

Not convinced by the actor's suitability for the role nor the character. He's a pretty bland and unintimidating "bad boy" and is poor compared to the current batch of soap bad boys at the moment.
What I don't get is why every bad boy has to be rugged and "hot" all the time in every soap. I'd like to see a Grant Mitchell style bad boy who actually looks and acts the part, rather than a pretty boy trying too hard to play tough. Corrie should've brought back the loan shark who terrorised Joe McIntryre, and who now plays Trevor Royle in Hollyoaks.
Agreed. Every villain needs to be eye candy. The Mitchell Bros worked so well because they LOOKED hard. Before they opened their mouths, you knew you would not want to mess with them. This guy? Looks like he'd cry if you messed his perfect hair up.
I can't believe how long David took before launching at Callum and punching him to the floor, then dragging the piece of scum out into the street.
I knew the exact moment I would have launched as I felt myself getting into a rage and beginning to move forward.
It was way before David did anything.

I must stop getting involved!
I know what you mean! IMO Jack P. Shepherd is a very good actor, and really showed Kylie up for the average actress she is, and the atrocious actor Callum is.
Having only watched for a number of minutes yesterday, I couldn't work out whether the actor playing Callum was that little bit too camp or if it was the sheer ridiculousness of the lines he was trying to deliver.
Perhaps I should put myself through the ringer and watch it again, but I tend to think it's a bit of both. The script really was terrible, particularly the type of words Callum was delivering when trying to be threatening towards Kylie. I think that the scriptwriters were trying to fill him with some council estate menace, but it came over as something you'd be more likely to hear in a gay porn film from Triga studios.

"I can set you free, Kylie doll", way to bring up my Xmas dinner

Callum will become a loveable rogue in the next few weeks, trust me!
Look at what happens to evil soap characters in any soaps! Becky was a druggie she ended up best friends with Hayley & Roy (She's a friend of Mr Selfridge now!!), Leanne Battersby was a **** became a faithful mother and 'wife'. Even Rita Littlewood - cabaret-singer and sloozy, became Rita Tanner now!
Give Callum a chance.......he is also good eye-candy ;-), Corrie needs some more!

It wasn't his decision.
Are you seriously suggesting that one of the top bosses of Coronation Street did not have a say in the decision to extend an actor's contract?
If he's going to be around a while they'll probably soften his character anyway, like they did with Kylie.
For anyone trying to tell Callum and NotGavin apart, Callum's the hot dark-haired one and NotGavin's the hot brown-haired one
I couldn't agree more!
What? Seriously??

Opinions and all but what the heck are you seeing
What the heck are you?
He looked like he was going to sexually assault David.
As others have said he is very unbelievable as a bad boy and doesn't look like somebody who grew up on an estate.
Be interesting to see how he is still in it without kylie. My only theory is a custody battle to get max
