1-2 bars in Colchester. 8mbps to 20 Mbps
5 bars in City of London inside building 0.7 to 1.5 Mbps

I seem to remember for about 2 years now you've always had issues with EE speeds. It was the same on 3G with throttling and now 4G.

I'm actually surprised you're still with them after this long and so many speed and throttling issues.

Huh, doesn't sound right - unless 4GEE suddenly has a lot more load, I would suspect a backhaul fault.

I was in Southampton this morning, which is a double speed area (2x20 mhz) and I managed only 18meg download and 30meg upload on a speedtest.

At home in Farnborough a single speed area (2x10 mhz) I managed immediately 38meg download and 17meg upload.

    Odd.

3G was when I was on the full Monty and capped. On the whole I like EE, I just want to make sure my phone is working as it should.

Those speeds definitely don't seem right. In various places throughout London on 4g I always get good speeds. Right now I'm inside a building in Camden, only have one bar of signal and I can get 35Mbps down.

its probably down to site capacity. hence why speeds never exceed a certain limit/

No upgraded site is seeing load congestion...

I always see 20-40 in London at peak.. generally faster off peak.

Which phone and which test sever are you using? Any screen shots?
