It's a rubbish week for going to the cinema

Why do the distributors do this? All the non-blockbuster films came out just before or immediately after Christmas and promptly disappeared. So if (like me) you planned to see Seven Psychopaths, Safety Not Guaranteed, Celeste and Jesse Forever or any other recent release during the lull after New Year, it's just impossible. They may as well have made everything apart from The Hobbit, Life of Pi and Skyfall straight-to-DVD.

What a peculiar thread. This week is the first time I have been since seeing Harry Potter!

All of your suggestions are indies, chances are you'd have not got to see them whenever they were released (unless you live near an artshouse cinema)...

I live near several (living in London has some benefits) but they are either showing The Hobbit, Life of Pi or Quartet.
