Were the contestants chosen for their abject stupidity?

I know someone who tried to get on that programme.

She ended up getting a signed photo from Richard O'Brien instead.

I was a youngster at the time; I loved the medieval zone and Aztec, but I wouldn't watch the other zones :D

Even if the team had 10 brain cells between them and they got 100 net gold tickets, they'd win something like a scuba diving "adventure" in the Grand Canal.

It's shown on Challenge which is on Freeview, Sky and Virgin, so it's almost available to everyone to watch.

In answer to the original question I suspect people do, as someone makes a new thread about every month.

Both presenters were very good, but Ed Tudor-Pole was underrated IMO.

What was the name of the woman in Medieval, who had a crystal ball?

Absolutely loved the show, O'Brien was awesome, Ed Tudor Pole wasn't anywhere near as good.

"Will you start the fans please!!!"

My favourite stupid Crystal Maze contestant ever. The fun starts once he's completed the jigsaw. Press the U3 button. A simple instruction no? Just watch...

Even better is Richard's reaction when the game is over :D

I loved the Crystal Maze, so did my son. There was an attraction at Blackpool near the South Pier/Sand Castle where you could go and play games and go through zones etc., and pick up crystals to win a prize. It was really good, but I don't thnk it was there very long. Anyone else remember it?

Wasn't it on at 6pm on channel 4? Either just before Gamesmaster or after or maybe the channel had one in when the other one finished its series.

Damn when i saw this thread i thought someone was posting that they were bringing it back!

Love this show even though ive seen each one i still dont know what will happen.

Laughed the other day when the captain got locked in on her first game then in her second she was awful. It was the robot one which is straight forward where you have to control it eg swivel body left, open hand, raise arm etc. After each movement she was shouting at her team whats next!! It was frustrating because it was so easy to work out whats next but she blamed her team for not helping her enough. Then when it was someone elses turn the captain was bossing her around as if she was a genius and knew how to do it.

The Adventure Game had a similar concept but was better... Crystal Maze couldnt compete with backwards speaking dragons, the vortex and Derek Griffiths as a contestant!

And this woman destroys the set in her failure to match the radar position to the drawers on the other side of the room:

Who here thinks that I should start my own version of The Crystal Maze and invite some of you DS members to be contestants on my show? :p
