It been discovered that the small business owner who attacked Ed Miliband over the 'there's no money left note' and Ed Balls is in fact an active member of the Conservative party.

http://labourlist.org/2015/05/about-that-question-time-audience/
Elena – whose Twitter bio is “Cats, Conservatives & Chelsea FC” was one of the people who asked Miliband a rather aggressive question last night. You’d have thought the BBC might have filtered out party supporters and activists from the audience.

Obviously there's nothing wrong with having committed Tory supporters in the audience, however including party activist is a step too far. The debate is suppose to be able 'normal' people discussing issues with the leaders in a reasonable way, not people pursuing a political agenda.

Ffft...who cares if she was "a plant"...the hilarious thing is thinking it would be got away with in this day and age.

And the simple reason for it is people leave their electronic size tens and faces all over the place and then act surprised when it takes ten seconds to follow their prints back to the source :D:D

Now Nigel Farage on this forum has been accused of wallowing in victimhood could not the same be said about this being made public by Labour list.

Where they appear to be saying Ed Balls was the victim of bias.

Anyone can be an activist - it is a voluntary thing, anyone who is passionate about an issue enough to do this on live TV is more likely to be one than not.

25% of the audience were made up of Conservative voters
25% of the audience were made up of Labour voters
25% of the audience were made up of LibDem voters
15% of the audience were made up of voters for the smaller parties
10% of the audience were made up of undecided voters

Shock, horror, Labour expose the bleeding obvious.

No - but I was rather surprised that she went on about how hard it had been to run her business after the end of the last government.

Does she think running a business is ever easy?

She's obviously prospered and done well - didn't seem as if she gave a hoot about those in less fortunate positions.

The "Undecided voter" attacking Ed Balls last night, Catherine Shuttleworth, is number 3882 on the 5000 signatures Tory scam. Her partner is a Tory MP.

Are the Tories too stupid to play at Dirty Tricks? :)

Cameron had the food bank "deaths", its not her fault if Labour could not find a mole as loud and direct as her.:D

I think the point of this one...in that it matters...is that she claimed to be an undecided...when in fact she wasn't....which might have deprived a genuine "undecided" of a chance to be in the audience.

There were a lot of irate people who believed that they, and only they, were right. It was like a TV version of this forum. :D

I agree...but this is a no win scenario...the politicians seem to demand more and more granular analysis of the audience to feel assuaged on the matter of balance...and yet the people applying tell fibs.

Aside from depriving someone told the truth on their form...what are the people "screening" the audience supposed to do...start doing the sort of deep background checks qualify for top secret clearance...though in this instance it seems she was "rumbled" pretty quickly with a few internet clicks.

Though as you know I have a much simpler solution to this nonsense...no TV debates or half show and never tell events on TV ;-)

I would think that there were pro Liberal Democrats and Labour people in the audience. It wouldn't surprise me at all if there were members from each party in the audience.

Edit: That fella who tried to make Nick Clegg look laughable is an absolute idiot. Talk about childish.

    I don't have a problem with that.

It's probably been done by the other parties too.

The fact that she's been exposed is the best thing.

Yes, she applied on the basis that she was an undecided voter. So a bit out of order.

Referring to the question about whether it makes her point less valid, no - but I think it's only fair for a viewer to know whether someone is open to the leaders response or not. I watched the programme last night and thought: "Wow, this woman is really angry about Ed Balls and the note thing". But now I know that she's an Tory activist I know that she's biased against Labour and so might not be 'really' angry at all.

Er yes, that was declared before the debate so as to appease those who claim political bias from the BBC:

25% of the audience were made up of Conservative voters
25% of the audience were made up of Labour voters
25% of the audience were made up of LibDem voters
15% of the audience were made up of voters for the smaller parties

I think the idea was to expose the leaders not the audience.
