Did block it from cluttering up my newsfeed, but it doesn't stop the ones that people upload as photos or tag/share.

Good, I shall do that as they are annoying. The first couple that appeared were amusing but not now.

I used these steps to block them and it worked for me.

    1) Click on the Facebook Account Settings icon, and click the "Blocking" option on the left side of your screen.

    2) Now scroll down to the "Block Apps" option at the bottom.

    3) Type in "Bitstrips," and enjoy a cartoon-free Timeline again.

Now the only one that get though are ones that people have actually uploaded as photos.

They get hidden immediately and anyone who posts one gets told to grow the f*ck up.

Well if you don't like this kind of thing, don't go on Facebook.

If so, what do you think.

Or if you've seen them, what do you think.

I've personally got mixed feelings. They are amusing, but could easily become irritating.

Bitstrips as described by The Metro

    "could become irritating"..?

    "COULD"..?

    They are instantly irritating!

Its having an inside joke between two people appear on your news feed and having no reference for what they are on about other than a dumb cartoon.

I'm going to start deleting people from my Facebook soon, the ones that keep posting them all the time.

I've not noticed it at all - don't know if that's cos none of my friends have bothered with it or I'm just not being very observant :)

    Nice friend!!!

I find them quite funny, my friends usually come up with ones much funnier than my attempts though!

I've only just started seeing them over the last couple of weeks or so, and those only from 3 friends.

I downloaded the app earlier just to see what the fuss was about. It's a bit of harmless fun i suppose - can't see me sharing many, if any though ..

That seems a slightly extreme reaction.

My own view is that people I've befriended on facebook, are "friends" and consequently I would not issue an edict as aggressive as that, over something as trivial. I'd expect to be unfriended if I did.

Friends whose updates become too frequent or samey, for whatever reason, just get hidden without comment.
