Mr and Mrs Speakman are getting on TV a lot lately...
on This Morning....
coaxing people who have phobias to face the phobia and overcome it .

They have now become regulars on B B Bit on the Side...............
giving their opinions and advice.

Got to admit that Mrs Speakman is a bit of a looker....
with those big eyes, blonde hair and black lace mini dress..... !

They did have their own afternoon show a little while back. Do they still use Kerry Katona in their advertising blurb? And, did they ever sell their house? I know they dropped the price and the Daily Mail ran an advert, sorry, article on it.

Noted celebrity clients of the Speakmans have included Peter Andre, Kerry Katona, Kym Marsh, Liz McClarnon, Katie Price, Holly Willoughby and Jeremy Kyle.
The Speakmans presented a DeLorean car to the former Liberal Member of Parliament for Rochdale, Sir Cyril Smith, at his 80th birthday party in 2008.
The Speakmans have diplomas in an unspecified subject from Newcastle University, but are not accredited psychotherapists.

From the sound of things, I wouldn't trust the Speakmans to run me a bath, let alone help people with psychological problems. Ffs.

I've not been impressed by their shtick, and both looking like long term residents of the Bates Motel doesn't help. :o

Can someone please tell me if they're brother & sister as they look so alike in appearance?

Their abilities seem to consist of asking people if the object of their phobia is to blame for something, then haranguing the person until they are fixed.

They insist there is a route cause situation and get quite grumpy when told there wasn't. I'd like to see them cure my underwater shipwreck fear, for I have never been in the water with one, nor on a sinking vessel. It's just always been there.

That shipwreck phobia is getting all too common in modern society.

Problem is that the Speakmans are going to have to go on a snorkling course to be able to treat your phobia ... itll cost you a small fortune in fees.

Nik is up front about his age .... 50 in wiki
Eva is a little more cagey.... 38 - 44 in wiki

Looks like they are Rochdale folk born and bred.

Lets hope they are not bro and sis as they have 2 children together

Presenting Cyril Smilth a DeLorian car for his 80th birthday ????
could he get in it.... let alone drive it !

Looks like they have left Rochdale and relocated to the SE (where all the money is ) to become media luvvies.
(nice work if you can get it )

I think the fact they're not accredited says a lot. It's pointless psychobabble. I'm actually surprised a TV company will touch them with a barge-pole considering they're not psychotherapists and use a form of CBT called Schema Therapy. They also seem to poorly understand schema therapy, and it also takes approximately 12 months to show results. CBT doesn't work in a day.

That's exactly how they operate, downright nasty at times especially Mrs Freakman.

While they do appear to get results in an hour or two I'd be interested to know the effects of their 'cures' in the long term.

They are complete charlatans who preach a dangerous breed of psychobabble. You simply cannot cure phobias in an hours' session. It's cretins like Kerry Katona who fall for such tripe; more fool them.

I consider myself suitably chastised. Or possibly not.
Their Twitter feed is an absolute load of bilge. Some of the quotations they posted look like the sort of wishy-washy nonsense that 12 year old girls write in their diaries.
"No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than YOU"
    No kidding.

These people shouldn't be allowed near anyone with genuine psychological problems.
Still, I suppose that if you base your judgements on their results, you only have to look at Kerry "car crash" Katona, Peter "pathological fear of heights and not being on magazine covers" Andre and Kym "chronic addiction to wedding cake" Marsh to know what utter shite-peddlers the Speakmans really are.

I find them both rather creepy looking but I wouldn't mind their help with certain phobias of mine.
