OK, so now we know "the Silents" are a religious order & not the lanky-forget-me-immediately aliens - what species are the lanky-forget-me-immediately aliens?

From what I gather, the religion is 'The Silence'. whilst the 'lanky-forget-me-immediately aliens' were 'The Silents'.

The Silence is a religious order, but because the lanky-forget-me-aliens are basically running it, they seem to have kind of taken on the name themselves. No other name is given for them, after all.
