 It's official. Andrew Castle is the best commentator in the world. :p ( After Mats yesterday, anyone would be). Compare John Lloyd's assessment of Andy with Mat's Fed love in yesterday.

No comparison, and JL is allowed to be biased. ( Though I get the impression he and Andy have fallen out).

I'm still expecting Andy to lose. :p That way I wont get my blood pressure up!!

Was on work placement so was unable to watch any of the matches live today, was stunned when I got a text to say that it was a Sharapova Vs Azarenka final and Nadal had won in 4! Every single result I has predicted went the opposite way :D Also utterly hilarious that Wozniacki has not only been knocked off No.1, but will fall to No.4.

With regard Saturday's women's final, can anybody here recall a situation where both players were playing for the No.1 ranking? :)

    YEC 2006 - Henin -v- Mauresmo..... Henin winning :D

Too nervous to watch this. Is it "same old same old" or is Andy playing OK?

I'd say Andy's playing OK and he's hanging in there, but at the moment he's second-best in terms of accuracy and consistency.

:( I think I'm going to watch this on record. It's just too stressful live.

Andy's playing so much better than last year, though. But still some horrible errors at crucial points. Nole is sensational.

People talk about Murray's failure to win a Slam like he's doing something wrong. He is undoubedly the fourth best player in the world, unfortuneately there is a gulf between the fourth best player and the three best players who have a stranglehold on the slams.
If it was just one dominant player, Murray would have won a slam by now as that top player would lose form from time to time, but for Murray to win a slam he has to get past three dominant players. No one outside of Nove, Rafa and Fed has won a slam since the US open in 09 and I highly doubt anyone will in 2012 or 2013.
Those three are in a different league.
Murray is a genuine number four but is simply not on the same level as the top three.

Couldn't have put it better myself,to be World Number 4 without a Grand Slam is an achievement in itself :)

If Andy loses though I hope he at least gets a set or two. That's got to help him mentally going forward. Whereas another straight sets defeat will make it feel like a GS win is light-years away.

as long as Andy stays focussed, surely the second set is his.

That's a step up from last year.
