Not quite. But it is from a Jon Pertwee story in which the Brigadier is involved.
This quote does sound very familliar! Is it from Spearhead From Space? The Brigadier talking to Liz when the Third Doctor is in hospital recovering from a traumatic regeneration?

Though I'm not taking part in the game no longer, here's a little helping tip from first page:
First poster gives a quote. Next poster identifies either the person saying it or the story it's from and posts the next quote.
In the case of the previous quote, naming the Brigadier would have been adequate enough in itself as the character had been correctly identified despite the story it came from being wrongly guessed.
Hope it helps.
And Tigger, considering you apparently knew every vague quote I threw at you, surprised(or maybe not surprised) you didn't know that. I did.
It doesn't look like anyone else is going to answer so...
That's Madame De Pompadour in The Girl in the Fireplace.
Really sorry I haven't replied sooner Valourant! I've been busy for the last day or so. I should've found time to check to see if the quote had been solved.
'Fortunately, I had all this wreckage to build a space swapping doo-dah thingummy wotsit.'
This quote is so familliar to me. Is it by any chance from Nu-Who? The Eleventh Doctor maybe, from The Doctor's Wife, talking to Idris when they were trying to build a make-shift Tardis Console?
Isn't it the Eleventh Dr from Sarah Jane Adventures, Death of the Doctor?
I think I've got it first! I've just checked to see if I got it right, and the story was wrong, but it was The Eleventh Doctor. As the OP said at the beginning, you only have to get one bit right, whether it's the character or the story. And I got the character, so it's my go!
"Mental projection of that force is beyond imagination, yet it might explain the stabiliser failure. "
It's from Planet of the Daleks. One of the Thals says it!
That story is one of my all-time favourites. Love that! My favourite character is Rebec, played by Jane How, who became Den's bit on the side in EastEnders years later.

"A sort of Think Tank."
Yes, that's right.

This is from a 70s story, that is well loved by most "Whovians".
Okay. If no-one gets this by Midnight, I'll post the answer, and then another quote.
Final clue: This isn't from Robot, and it was a male character that said it.
No one seems to want to reply to this thread anymore. So I'll say the answer.
This quote was said by Harry Sullivan and was from Genesis of the Daleks.
"God speed my lonely angel."
Edit - Someone's got to reply to this one, surely.

Anyway, it's your go now, so over to you.

Other than that, I haven't got a clue!

Sorry, brotonsbaby, but you were five minutes out!
By the way, yours is Fourth Doctor from Pyramids of Mars, isn't it?
It is yes. It's just after Sarah sees a projection in the Tardis.
Now it's your go!
'I can hear the lift. There's one coming.'
It's from Planet of the Daleks. One of the Thals says it!

"It's cool!" as The Eleventh Doctor would put it.
Thanks, mate!
I'll just have a shoofty online for a quote, then I'll post one for you! ;-)
See what you can make of that one.
Sorry I wasn't a bit sooner posting this but my phone rang and I lost Internet connection for a few minutes.
I'll be back later, just after Midnight to see if it has been solved.
I see people haven't solved this yet. Well, it is a little early to be giving out clues, but a small one won't hurt.
This was said in a nu-who episode.
If no-one has got this by Midnight, then I'll post the answer, and another quote.
