I am looking for a holiday cottage for some time in Aprilin England for a week or so, around £300, somewhere quiet preferably near a lake/river and where we can take a dog and let him off lead.
Anyone know anywhere good or a good website to look on?
Thanks

That's a good wee site that.Do you do discounts for DS members?.I quite fancy Findhorn, now that all of those noisy Nimrods have left!.
I have booked holiday homes from this site all over Europe and been really pleased with all of them

Discounts for repeat visits! Ours is a little trek from Findhorn (beautiful place) in the Cairngorms National Park.
I've stayed at several places advertised on the cottage guide and all have been very good and a decent price - none of the overheads/premium prices that come with Hoeseasons, Cottages4You and the likes.

has dog friendly and larger cottages than those just for couples
There are some great cottages and lodges in Snowdonia. If you want to stay in England, Cumbria [Lake District] is very nice, but if you live in the south, Snowdonia is closer.
They have 3 holiday cottages on site with hot tubs and they also have self catering wig wams its a really nice place!
It's near filey so in the surrounding area is Whitby,Scarborough, flamborough etc...
Really good company with some lovely properties, though they don't cover the whole of England, just the West Country.
I like the area around Grange in Cumbria. lots of dog walking there., and a bit different to the lakes proper. Cartmel is lovely
Cornwall also. Beaches are maybe dog-permitted before Easter. I like the are around Tintagel, as well as many others. Trebarwith Strand is one of my favourite spots.
We are in the Midlands, so not too far away from anywhere really but don't want to travel too far, mainly to save the petrol money!
Thanks for all the new suggestions, going to have a look at them all now
bourton, burford, chipping campden, etc etc
I booked a holiday cottage with Sykes in the Yorkshire Dales for my birthday last year and it was absolutely wonderful.
