Nexus 7 wont switch on ! Help appreciated.

i posted a thread earlier about a scratch on the screen.

well not the actual tablet will not switch on !
it wont charge either.

it was at about 50% battery when i last switched it off anyway.

its been plugged in about 8 hours. nothing.

i have held down the button for a minute at a time and it will not switch on :(

    One of my friends had the same issue. Had to be replaced as it's a common fault with them just refusing to turn on/charge.

    I think holding power+vol down for 10 secs sometimes helps in this situation.

    it's really not. i mean it happens a lot, but it does not mean it needs replacing. it just handles running out of power very badly.

    Cured it for me three times---sometimes needed upto 30 secs.

    Not necessarily related but has not happened since updated to kitkat OS :)

    I think they should include the holding down the power switch fix as an instruction in the box when you buy it. It is something that a lot of us had to search for ourselves! I thought my Nexus had broke at first.

    I agree. I wonder how many were returned with nothing wrong with them.

    My Nexus 7 (2012) does it quite a lot and given it needs charging every 2 minutes its a pain in the arse.
