Context is everything - the forum doesn't allow for a tweet image to be shown so to explain.... Rob Thorogood included a pic with a mac folder with DiP 501 created - hence cylon surmising that there is indeed a commission for a 5th series.

Episode 3 of Season 3 was shown on BBC1 last Sunday night but the next episode has been shoved out of the way so the Beeb can show live coverage of the Brazilian Grand Prix
1. It's a repeat.
2. Any live event is always going to take priority over a recorded programme.
Would have assumed that was just common sense
If the schedulers knew they were going to be showing the Grand Prix then why not wait until after the season was over to start with the DiP repeats again?
I dont have a TV, and IMO its not worth recording it to watch later
Order a new Sony 46" HD TV and a Freeview HD Panasonic DMR-BWT740 bluray recorder.
Set "series record" on the Panasonic and then burn all episodes onto a bluray disc in 1920x1080 HD.
All 8 episodes will fit on a single 25GB TDK disc (80p each) with about 10 minutes to spare.
What can go wrong?

"@robthor: Wow. Amazed to be here - and frissony all over: #deathinparadise series 5 episode 1 gets an empty folder."
Yes. But they've filmed series 4. That tweet is from the writer and he was writing about series 5. As I said, it looks like series 5 is coming.
Read it again.
Like so....

Not for me I prefer him

So, as I said, potentially filler for just one spare week. If it does return and continue then I might will concede the point

Looking forward to it.
Just what's needed to get through the cold and miserable winter nights!
True, now if Wild at Heart came back as well too!
Excellent. I'm sure my Tivo will pick it up without needing my intervention
Probably a deliberate scheduling decision as the second and third seasons premiered in January as well
Why not?

Wild at Heart was depressing.
Looking forward to Death in Paradise along with new series of Suits, Good Wife and Nashville.
If only there was another Dallas.
I want all of the toys above. This was not the year to have my hours reduced. Toyyyyyyyyyys
