What could this be?

For about a week now I have had what I thought was a cold however I am no doubting it is a bog standard cold.
In myself I am for the most part okay, little weak but generally fine. However my nose is running with thick snot (excuse the image), my nose is blocked for sure but when it runs it comes out in long strings...honestly it is like a magician pulling things out of his hat...never ending I keep pulling and pulling and pulling and finally I get to the end...10 mins later I am back again trying to rid of this snot.
I'm really anti-doctors for these things but it has been a week any ideas what I may have?
