Why do women orgasm?

No , this isn't a smutty thread as i'm being serious and still can't find the definitive answer!

From a biological point of view , why do women orgasm?
I hope some sciene types can answer or tell me if it's still unknown

    When a woman orgasms, it makes her vagina and womb contract and help pull in the sperm towards the egg... or something like that! So it's in natures interest for us to orgasm.

    So men can establish how 'safe' it is to have the volume at more than two bars when watching porn when the girlfriend is round and has popped into the other room to make the tea.

    Embryos start out as female, then some develop more and become male. The clitoris and labia are a stunted version of penis and testicles, just like men actually have an internal cavity (sumo wrestlers use it to push their testicles inside their bodies). I think some scientists think that women have the ability to orgasm due to the fact that they have all these bits and pieces from when they could have been male instead of female. Some think that orgasms encourage the possibility of pregnancy because of the cervical contractions during orgasm enabling sperm to go through easier.

    (I hope I am being lucid, I've drunk a bit more Merlot than I intended to tonight:o )

    This, physically it helps with conception, then also the subsequent oxytocin release makes us feel all nice and cuddly after to strengthen the pair bond.
    However I see according to Stephen "Im a genius"Fry we only pretend to orgasm so the big strong breadwinners will give us money to buy more shoes or wtte :rolleyes:

    I remember an ex saying he watched a documentary that showed a women's body contracted and scooped the sperm closer to the cervix on orgasm :eek:

    Sounded weird, but made sense I suppose.

    I guess that explains also why some women can roll their tongue.
