Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer

Does anyone use Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer?
Would you recommend it?

If so, which colour should I go for? Original? or Sin?

I do feel cheated when I buy a product and then decide I do not like it, so a bit of intelligence up front would be good please?

I have it but IMO it's not the amazing product people make it out to be. It does its job, but that's it. I much prefer ELF's mineral eyeshadow primer, purely because it is almost exactly the same but for a fraction of the price. It works just as well.

Here are a few blog posts people have made reviewing/comparing the two:

    http://cosmetic-candy.com/elf-mineral-eyeshadow-primer/
    http://shimmerkisser.blogspot.com/2009/08/elf-mineral-es-primer-vs-udpp.html

There are also a few Youtube videos comparing them too.

So to sum up, if you like high end brands and fancy packaging, or just really want to try it, then get the Urban Decay (the original, I've heard Sin isn't that good, though I've never tried it myself). But if you just want an eyeshadow primer that works, then the ELF is a great, much cheaper alternative.

I have it, and I do find that it works rather well... however, it didn't have the staying power I expected, especially for the price that it is! The bottle shape is also a nightmare as it means you can't get half the product out, I've had to split mine open before in order to scoop the rest out.

I would reccomend Too Faced Shadow Insurance, it's absolutely fantastic, can't reccomend it highly enough- it's also rather a good price.

I've used the original and it's fine but prefer Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Agree with CoCoKathy about the packaging...seems quite wasteful.

Re: Urban Decay, when it starts getting difficult to get the stuff out, use a cotton bud. Works a treat. I find this product fantastic but yes, very expensive so I will try the ELF thing.

Thanks DS'ers! I was just searching some threads to come spread the UD love (wearing the primer right now and it's fab, does what it's meant to!) can't believe I didn't consider the waste of product or cheaper alternatives though, so I'll definitely be giving ELF a go myself!
